GANT

Gant

GANT is a company driven by a simple idea: Never Stop Learning. It’s a belief that has guided us since 1949 when Bernard Gantmacher founded a shirtmaking company in the college town of New Haven, Connecticut.

For GANT, it all began with shirts and we’ve never stopped reinventing them. Born in 1949, it’s a shirt that is rich in legacy and history. The combination of our founder Bernard Gantmacher’s dedication to quality and his sons Marty and Elliot’s sense for style and business proved to be a winning formula.

The story of GANT begins with a Ukrainian boy in search of a better life who sailed to America, fell in love, found success and forever changed American style.

Encouraged by his sons, Bernard Gantmacher establishes GANT Inc. and starts to make shirts under the company’s own label.

In the 1950s the prevailing color for a man’s shirt is white – until GANT invents a daring new look, sparking the Oxford Color Explosion.

Columbia Sportswear

Columbia Sportswear

Based in Portland, Oregon, Columbia Sportswear is a global outdoor brand that crafts active lifestyle gear fortified with industry-leading technologies and tested in our own backyard. Our apparel, footwear, and accessories reflect our Pacific Northwest heritage and indomitable spirit.
Gert Boyle, Columbia Founder
GERT BOYLE
1924 – 2019
It all began in 1937 when Gert’s parents fled Nazi Germany and settled in Portland where they purchased a small hat manufacturer, naming it the Columbia Hat Company. Signifying a fresh start for the family, the business eventually passed from Gert’s father to her husband Neal and then to Gert herself in 1970 when she went from housewife to executive overnight after Neal’s sudden passing.

Our founder Gert Boyle’s “Tough Mother” persona lives on in the Columbia brand. Her legendary perfectionism (“It’s perfect. Now make it better.”) and the high standards to which she held herself and others still guide us today.

At Columbia, we’re as passionate about the outdoors as you are. And while our gear is available around the world, we’re proud to be based in the Pacific Northwest where the lush forests, snow-covered mountains, rugged coastline, and wide-open spaces serve as our playground. This is where we hike, fish, hunt, camp, climb, shred, paddle, golf, run, and just enjoy the fresh air with friends.

Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo

Jimmy Choo is a leading global luxury brand with an empowered sense of glamour and a playfully daring spirit.

The brand traces its roots to a bespoke shoemaker named Jimmy Choo, based in the East End of London in the early 1990s, who catered to the global jet set, including Princess Diana. The Jimmy Choo company was founded in 1996, with Mr Choo’s niece, Sandra Choi, who had been heading up design in the East End atelier, coming on board as Creative Director, a position she holds to this day. Mr Choo departed the company in 2001.

The sexy cut, fashionable design, and exceptional Italian craftsmanship struck a chord with a sophisticated clientele, and the first collection enjoyed immediate success. With a goal of creating a global luxury business, Jimmy Choo attracted outside investment and the company embarked on a significant expansion across product categories, channels and geographies.

A pioneer in the art of celebrity dressing, Jimmy Choo was among the first to bring shoes and handbags to Hollywood where the red carpet proved to be the ideal runway for the brand. Today, Jimmy Choo can be seen on style icons from celebrities to royalty, musicians to heads of state.

The brand’s reputation as a celebrity favourite helped to fuel its rapid expansion. Its iconography was further defined by the bold and dramatic advertising portraying glamorous but strong women in towering heels and luxurious handbags, captured by some of the most acclaimed fashion photographers in the world.

Retail development has been integral to the company’s strategy. The first Jimmy Choo store was opened in 1996 on Motcomb Street in London, complementing a distribution in some of the most prestigious multi-brand stores in the world. Two years later, the company expanded to the US, opening two stores in New York City and Beverly Hills. International expansion continued with Jimmy Choo securing locations in the premiere luxury shopping destinations of the world’s most prestigious cities including Sloane Street and Bond Street in London, Avenue Montaigne in Paris, Via Condotti in Rome, Madison Avenue in New York, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and Ginza in Tokyo.

Jimmy Choo encompasses a complete luxury accessories brand. Women’s shoes remain the core of the product offer, alongside handbags, small leather goods, scarves, sunglasses, eyewear, belts, fragrance and men’s shoes. Creative Director Sandra Choi has been with the brand since its inception in 1996 with a vision to create one of the world’s most treasured luxury brands. Jimmy Choo has a global store network encompassing more than 200 stores and is present in the most prestigious department and specialty stores worldwide. Jimmy Choo is part of the Capri Holdings Limited global fashion luxury group publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CPRI.

Jimmy Choo
SANDRA CHOI
Born in the UK on the Isle of Wight, and educated in Hong Kong – China, Choi relocated to London as a teenager to finish her secondary school education. During this time, Choi went to work with her uncle, Jimmy Choo, who was then a couture shoemaker based in the East End of London catering to the global jet set, including Princess Diana. Passionate about turning her apprenticeship into a career as a designer, Choi attended the prestigious Central St Martins School where she studied for a degree in Fashion Design whilst continuing work as Choo’s protégé. At his side, Choi perfecting the art of creating couture shoes: designing, cutting patterns, stitching, fitting and constructing lasts. Enchanted by the business, Choi eventually abandoned her studies so that she could devote herself full-time to design and the management of the atelier.

In 1996, the Jimmy Choo brand was born with Sandra Choi serving as the company’s Creative Director. Since its inception, Jimmy Choo has grown to be an internationally recognised label with a passionate clientele worldwide.

The company’s first Jimmy Choo store was opened in 1996 on Motcomb Street in London complementing a distribution in some of the most prestigious and selective department stores. The sexy cut and fashionable design of the shoes combined with exceptional Italian craftsmanship struck a chord with clientele, and the first collection enjoyed immediate success. Choi’s fashion insight combined with the skills she refined as a bespoke shoemaker created a collection that made couture quality available at retail.

With a strategy to expanding internationally, the company established a retail presence in the United States with its first store in New York City in 1998, followed by Los Angeles in 1999. Using the store’s LA foothold to cater to Hollywood celebrities, Choi worked with celebrities and their stylists from a hotel atelier creating Jimmy Choo shoes for award show dressing. The red carpet proved to be the ideal runway for shoes and then handbags, as actresses such as Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman all took their paces wearing Jimmy Choo.

Accolades followed with Jimmy Choo awarded 2008 ‘Designer Brand of the Year’ from the British Fashion Council, the 2008 ‘ACE Brand of the Year’ from the Accessory Council and the 2008 ‘Brand of the Year’ from Footwear News in New York.

Bjorn Borg

Bjorn Borg

“Everyone is born unknown. Some become legends for the century. But only a few get to live as one”. Our products are just as long-lasting as the memory of the tennis legend Björn Borg’s deeds, as breathtaking as his play and as eye-catching as his records. Here’s our story.

1956 / The Birth of a star
Björn Borg sees the light of the world, in Södertälje south of Stockholm

He was named Björn and would later affectionately be known as the Ice Man. Björn Borg entered the conservative tennis court and changed it to a colourful scene. When he first played at Wimbledon in 1973, his ice-cold countenance and flowing blond hair created as much attention as the five consecutive titles he subsequently won between 1976 and 1980.

1984 / Björn Borg Collection
To win big, you must dare to lose bigger

In the name of the legend, The Björn Borg Collection was founded with Rohdi Heintz as the lead designer. They started off with sports apparel, but with their daring attitude came great ideas; after a few the company took a brave step into the underwear world.

1989 / In a time before underwear
‘The Perfect Fit’ became an international phenonemon as we expanded into new markets

The time had come to grow and glow abroad, exporting the Swedish underwear to Denmark, Norway, Australia, the Netherlands and Belgium, booming with its brilliancy.

The underwear is dead. Long live the underwear. How we killed the Y front fashion.

At the time underwear was not considered much more than a protective piece of garment and Y front briefs were the ruling trend amongst men. Based on the belief that it was time for a change, designer Anders Arnborger went on a search for the perfect boxers. He developed a bold and brilliant underwear concept. With its 17 pieces, stitched together with flat lock seams to create the ultimate fit, The Björn Borg Classic Shorts 3201 is the most iconic model to date. Even though they were packaged in smart boxes, no re-seller wanted to put buy; the model was too groundbreaking at the time. But giving up is not the Björn Borg style and our stamina gave results. The boxers boomed and changed the history of men’s underwear.

2004 / Printed Underwear
Explosive prints and vibrant patterns become the trademark of our designs

The design team in Stockholm got completely free hands to experiment with prints and patterns, creating collections that blew people’s minds and pioneered the way underwear looked, perfectly aligned with the sagging trend of wearing your jeans significantly below the waist, revealing your true colour.

2014 / Back to our roots
The no. 1 Sports Fashion Brand for the Active and Attractive

This year we got back to our roots. The design of our sports apparel was brought back to Stockholm after some good years in Holland and our journey towards becoming the No. 1 Sports Fashion brand for the Active and Attractive started.

BALLY

Bally

Born in Switzerland in 1851, Bally is one of the world’s longstanding luxury brands. Proud to be leather architects, our DNA as skilled shoemakers marries a heritage of craftsmanship with a decidedly contemporary aesthetic.
Founded by Carl Franz Bally, what began as a family-run ribbon factory in Schönenwerd quickly became a pioneering global brand by the turn of the century as Bally industrialized its processes (1854), built infrastructure and services to support its employees, and expanded stores from Montevideo, Uruguay (1870) to Paris, France (1879).
In 1942, the Bally Shoe Museum was established in Carl Franz Bally’s original Schönenwerd home to exhibit footwear and related artifacts spanning 5,000 years. The collection includes ancient Egyptian sandals and medieval poulaines, to the elaborate pumps of modern day, representing Bally’s continuing passion as experts in shoemaking.

Today, Bally continues to honor its timeless traditions, subscribing to the belief that quality speaks for itself. Even our most iconic shoes, like the men’s formal Scribe Novo, created by Carl Franz Bally’s grandson Max Bally in celebration of the brand’s 100-year anniversary in 1951, are still handmade in Switzerland, taking 240 artisanal techniques to complete.

Bally dares to be different, always designing with longevity in mind. Our team of multi-generational artisans based in Caslano, Switzerland, handcraft styles with consistency and care, embodying our dedicated approach to making shoes, accessories and ready-to-wear.

Delve into Bally’s world of craftsmanship through our series of behind-the-scenes films.

We engineer functional fashion that breaks boundaries. Whether it’s Reindeer boots, worn by Tenzing Norgay during the first-ever ascent of Mount Everest in 1953, technical Curling shoes worn by the Swiss Olympic team, or the use of AI and 3-D prototyping to inform our designs, we embrace a multitude of cutting-edge technologies to maximize our possibilities.

Explore our latest collection of Curling shoes with the “A Step Ahead” campaign.

Inspired by modern architecture and the arts, we strive to design beautiful products with relevance and restraint. Using clean lines and a signature edge, our house signifiers, like the classic red-and-white Bally Stripe or the symmetrical 1851 hardware, grace our collections and have withstood the test of time.

Since the early 20th century, Bally has partnered with the world’s top creative talent, commissioning French illustrator Bernard Villemot to create globally-renowned advertising posters, or the leading architects of their time, like the late, legendary Corbusier, Karl Moser, Robert Mallet-Stevens and Andrée Putman. More recently, award-winning firm Casper Mueller Kneer Architects designed our Milan Bally Haus flagship concept in 2019.

Discover our Bally A-Z, an alphabet honoring the stories that have shaped our DNA, made in collaboration with notable illustrators Lennard Kok, Abbey Lossing, George Wylesol, Bryce Wymer and duo Nina Werhle and Evelyne Laube.

Swiss in spirit, we are open-minded to the world. Equally at home in the city and in nature, our network represents the breadth and depth of our culture, from members of the Bally Collective who champion “The Art of Living Well” to environmental activists and mountaineers like Dawa Steven Sherpa and Jamling Norgay.

Born in the Swiss Alps, we are profoundly passionate about integrating nature into all that we do, from taking tangible action towards mountain preservation through the Bally Peak Outlook Foundation (established in 2020) to honoring the elements as a primary source of inspiration for our collections.

BROOKS’ INTRODUCTION of READY-MADE CLOTHING

1849

READY-MADE
SUITS

“The first to embark on that which is now a leading commercial pursuit,” wrote the editors of Carroll’s 1859 New York City Directory of Brooks’ introduction of Ready-Made clothing. Pioneers of the California Gold Rush, unable to wait on the whims of a tailor, flock to Brooks Brothers to pick up ready-made clothing, an innovation of Brooks introduced to aid the fortune seekers in their quest.

THE NAME

“THE GOLDEN FLEECE symbol is adopted as the company’s
trademark. The logo, a sheep suspended in a ribbon, had
served as a symbol of fine wool since PHILIP THE GOOD chose
the emblem for his Order of the Golden Fleece. Later, wool
merchants in Europe adopted the symbol as a way of
advertising woolen wares to a largely illiterate public, and the
Brookses, who wanted to associate their shop with the
European sartorial tradition, did the same.”

The younger brothers DANIEL, JOHN, ELISHA, AND EDWARD,
assume leadership and change the firm’s name to
Brooks Brothers.

A DEFENSE AGAINST
THE DRAFT RIOTS

As NEW YORK CITY INHABITANTS ARE DRAFTED INTO THE
Union Army, a riot breaks out beginning in Manhattan’s
19th ward. As BROOKS BROTHERS is well known as providers
of Union uniforms, rioters gather at the Catherine and Cherry
Street location and sack the store.

The night after this attack, as the riots continued, Brooks
was admirably guarded by a twelve-year-old boy named
Francis G. Lloyd.

Forty years later, Lloyd would become the first outside of the
family to lead the firm.

FALKE

Falke

It’s the details that distinguish premium products from all others. Since 1895, the Falke family business has stood for fashionable clothing made from high-quality materials, finished with handcrafted perfection and an eye for detail.
Identity

We’re daydreamers and we’re proud of it. Firmly believing in our visions of modern living and aesthetics, we prefer to make them a public statement instead of hiding behind impersonal anonymity. The perfect design, of course, comes in many different guises– but only one meets our personal preferences. That’s why like-minded individuals come together in social environments both large and small where they share specific lifestyles, shopping habits and cultural preferences. We’d probably be exaggerating by calling it elitist thinking, but a touch of ritual behaviour remains undeniable in any tailored environment we experience – which, after all, is what makes it irresistible.

The FALKE scene is made up of multilingual globetrotters, headstrong individuals, curious explorers, fanatical perfectionists, sensitive creative types and incorrigible aesthetes. Their imagery, their interior design and their clothing are visible expressions of their instincts. We feel at home in their midst. We constantly keep them in mind as we pursue the perfect design and the best handcrafted quality. Our friends who share our ethos expect their understanding of aesthetics to be perfectly translated into modern clothing. We make jumpers, bodies, fine tights and legwear whose designs help transform our shared sense of style into a reality with harmonious fabrics and colours. No, you aren’t dreaming.

For all people around the world, for whom luxury does not represent excess but rather the liberty of rewarding themselves with the very best.
Philosophy

We have always had a vision of pooling our knowledge of legwear – established and collected throughout the 125-year company history – to create a unique new product line. To this end, we brought together all of our artisans, who not only practise their craft but live it.

We approached experts in their trade, who are able to master complex knitting machines as if they were traditional artisanal tools. They create results that come alive and evoke astonishment and admiration. They collaborate with true craftsmen, who are now a rare breed. These, in turn, are masters in ancient traditions of refining and finishing legwear with their delicate hand-crafting. When machines come up against their limitations, these craftsmen begin putting the finishing touches on their work to create the perfect product.

We sent out scouts who are well-acquainted with the sources of the finest materials, including vicuña, cashmere, camel hair and silk, the best Merino wool, the finest fil d’Ecosse and piuma cottons. These sources are spread across the world. Not only do our scouts know of these sources, they show great respect to the people there who hand-make such fabrics according to ancient traditions.

We called upon our designers, masters of shape, colour, patterns and texture, whose expertise includes the ability to reinterpret the creative element of contemporary fashion, time and time again.

And now we address all of those around the world, for whom luxury does not represent excess but rather the liberty of rewarding themselves with the very best. They do not need luxury. It is enough for them to know that, at least for the time being, it doesn’t get better than this. They want to be able to enjoy peaceful, silent moments of luxury time and again, revelling in the pleasure of it.

But something tells us that they will want to share this enjoyment…

adidas

Adidas

The adidas brand has a long history and deep-rooted connection with sport. Its broad and diverse portfolio in both the Sport Performance and Sport Inspired categories ranges from major global sports to regional grassroot events and local sneaker culture. This has enabled adidas to transcend cultures and become one of the most recognized, credible, and iconic brands both on and off the field of play.
Key to our success and the execution of our strategy ‘Own the Game’, are our people and our culture. They bring our identity to life, defined by our purpose, mission, and attitude.
Everything we do is rooted in sport. Sport plays an increasingly important role in more and more people’s lives, on and off the field of play. It is central to every culture and society and is core to our health and happiness.

Our purpose, ‘through sport, we have the power to change lives’, guides the way we run our company, how we work with our partners, how we create our products, and how we engage with our consumers. We will always strive to expand the limits of human possibilities, to include and unite people in sport, and to create a more sustainable world.

Athletes do not settle for average. And neither do we. We have a clear mission: To be the best sports brand in the world. Every day, we come to work to create and sell the best sports products in the world, and to offer the best service and consumer experience – and to do it all in a sustainable way. We are the best when we are the credible, inclusive, and sustainable leader in our industry.

OUR ATTITUDE
At adidas, we are rebellious optimists driven by action, with a desire to shape a better future together. We see the world of sport and culture with possibility where others only see the impossible. ‘Impossible is Nothing’ is not a tagline for us. By being optimistic and knowing the power of sport, we see endless possibilities to apply this power and push all people forward with action.

Through sports, we have the power to change lives. Sports keep us fit. They keep us mindful. They bring us together. Athletes inspire us. They help us to get up and get moving. And sporting goods featuring the latest technologies help us beat our personal best. adidas is home to the runner, the basketball player, the soccer kid, the fitness enthusiast, the yogi. And even the weekend hiker looking to escape the city. The 3-Stripes are everywhere and anywhere. In sports. In music. On life’s stages. Before the whistle blows, during the race, and at the finish line. We’re here to support creators. To improve their game. To live their lives. And to change the world.

adidas is about more than sportswear and workout clothes. We partner with the best in the industry to co-create. This way we offer our fans the sporting goods, style and clothing that match the athletic needs, while keeping sustainability in mind. We’re here to support creators. Improve their game. Create change. And we think about the impact we have on our world.
WORKOUT CLOTHES, FOR ANY SPORT
adidas designs for athletes of all kinds. Creators who love to change the game. People who challenge conventions, break the rules, and define new ones. Then break them all over again. We design sports apparel that gets you moving, winning, and living life to the fullest. We create bras and tights for female athletes who play just as hard as the men. From low to high support. Maximum comfort. We design, innovate and iterate. We test new technologies in action. On the field, the track, the court, and in the pool. We’re inspired by retro workout clothes, creating new streetwear essentials. From NMD and Ozweego to our Firebird tracksuits. From Stan Smith to Superstar. Classic sports models are brought back to life on the streets and the stages around the world.

Through our collections we blur the borders between high fashion and high performance. Like our adidas by Stella McCartney athletic clothing collection – designed to look the part inside and outside of the gym. Or some of our adidas Originals lifestyle pieces, that can be worn as sports apparel too. Our lives are constantly changing. Becoming more and more versatile. And adidas designs with that in mind.
